From Dancer to Designer

Starting my journey in ballet at age 5, I continued to dance for 6 years before transitioning backstage to teach and create the garments I would then send my students out in. I began my learning as a costumer under the tutelage of Claudia Folts, a woman in Charlotte, NC, who offers seminars on tutu making. After discovering my passion for ballet costumes, I began looking for continued education that would send me straight into my field of choice. That brought me to Georgia Southern University as a Fashion Merchandising and Apparel Design student. I have been an active member of the local theater and dance programs, both as a costumer and a teacher. When I am not in school or sewing costumes I am generally in a ballet class where I am the instructor.
